Everything Else is a Piece of Cake

I did it. I rode my bike to Costco to buy an apple pie. It took me a little over 45 minutes of aggressive riding to get to Costco and about 50 minutes of gentle riding to get home with an apple pie strapped to the back of my bike. When I got to Costco, I discovered that I only had 3000 yen. I got my slice of pizza, a cup of coke, a sack of tangerines, a bag of coffee and the apple pie. The weather held long enough. Ten minutes from home it started to rain and blow, but the pie was worth it. It was in pristine condition until a couple of minutes ago. I had a slice for mid-afternoon lunch.

People at work ask if I can cook for myself. I ate the rest of Chissy’s curry and rice for the first three days after she left. I have eaten cheese and lettuce sandwiches until yesterday. Last night I had some Mac-n-Cheese. Now for the next two or three days it will be apple pie. Of course I can cook.
