Kobe by Night

The first night Jessica was in Japan we took her to Kobe. Kobe has a western feel, high-end stores and modern Japanese shopping streets. The main target of the night really was just to take the kid out to Spaghetti Factory. Jess had really wanted to go to her favorite restaurant for her birthday, but there wasn’t a Spaghetti Factory very near Chicago, so she went to it in Kobe.

In Kobe we stopped at the International Community Center in one of Kobe’s high rises. From the window of the Ladies restroom there is a tremendous view of the harbor & city. I didn't check out the Mens room - and here's why: #1)they aren't anywhere near as nice as the Ladies, and #2)usually the only "view" in a Mens restroom is for people who walk by the Men’s restrooms. In Japan there is a tremendous view of the urinals. A guy has to be very careful which urinal he uses. Frequently they are placed under windows or just inside the doorless restroom entry. Chrissy has tried to snap pictures of me using the facilities, but she also is very cautious on how she appears while taking shots of men’s facilities. Don't want anyone to get the wrong impression. So please enjoy the pictures from the Ladies restroom.

We walked through Kobe down to Harbor land and Mosaic, a mall built close to the waterfront. This walk successfully covered most of the things that Jessica wanted to see in Kobe. Unfortunately, we didn’t have enough time to take a different route under the railroad tracks where much of the more colorful life in Kobe exists.
