Quake

Five minutes ago, we had a small tremor. Really it was a quick jolt. One teacher, who has never spoken English to me, estimated it at a magnitude 3. It has been a while since my last quake. We had many in Alaska when I was a kid. The largest one was near a 7.0, but it didn’t last very long just a couple of seconds. This tremor lasted five seconds, but I thought my desk moved for another 15 seconds. It may have just been my heartbeat. My legs still have the remnants of adrenaline flowing through them.
