Dream House Built to Japanese Scale

The following is a photo essay of what I have done with my time since Chrissy has once again returned for a short while to the US.

I began this model the weekend that she left. It is the first generation of what could be our dream house. I say dream house, because this one is so small and a big one would take a lot of paper or be very expensive. It is built to the scale 1 centimeter equals six feet. If it is built full scale, it would stretch about 96 feet from side to side and about sixty feet front to back.

The land is a hand-sculpted paper based modeling clay. Yes, I sculpted it by hand. I painted it with watercolors. The first model I built fell apart with the first paint job.

The various angles, should give you a good view from all of the angles. This view is from the existing greenhouse, or Vicarage.

But wait!

This is Japan.
