My note to the graduating class

I don’t know what I expected when I came to Japan, but I know I found much more than I could have dreamed. I came to teach English, but I have learned more than I have taught. Thank you for you smiles everyday in class. I always looked forward to each of the third grade classes. I enjoyed every moment of the survivor games that we played together. I always looked forward to speaking with each student. Thank you for giving me a place to call “home” in Japan. I will always remember my time here at Kawaragi. I will always think of the students of Kawaragi as my students. I wish I could spend much more time here with you, but one of the sweetest things about being a teacher is saying goodbye.

If you never say goodbye to the ones you love, you will never know what you miss.

I will miss you.
