Spaghetti Factory

On the west side of Kobe, we have discovered a delightful little restaurant you may have heard of, called Spaghetti Factory! It's in a quaint, but newly built, shopping area called Harborland with (you guessed it!) a 'harbor' theme - boardwalks and all. It's a very nice area right on the bay - we will have to go back another time when we have more time to shop. The restaurant itself is in an old brick warehouse along with several other shops & restaurants. We had a little difficulty listing our name on the waiting list to get seats in the non-smoking section of the dining area, but it was well worth the 15 minute wait. It also gave me a chance to write my name in Katakana, of course all I can write is “Mr. T.”

Fortunately, the décor and the menu are the same as the states. The menu even has little English subtitles so you know, for sure, what you are getting in case you don't already have it memorized in English like us. I had to go with Myzithera and brown butter sauce. So not Japanese. Unfortunately, the portions are more sized for the Japanese, the bread isn’t sourdough, and the prices are almost twice the usual rate. And no Spumoni! It is well worth a little taste of home, however.
